try bending his legs at the kee and pushing them against his tummy for a few seconds at a ime for like a fewmins... it should help him move things along and make it not so uncomfotable.... or try diluting like 1/4 cup pune juice and water if he'll take it.

I used to lay mine on the couch and do gentle excercises like pushing their legs up like you would change a diaper...it seemed to help their little guts operate better...

When my son was that small, he was constipated a lot!! I would add a little prune juice to his formula. Or my mother always told me a little corn syrup. Those two always did the trick. Don't worry too hard though.
The baby formula these days has way too much iron IMO. I think they have some these days with low iron. |

diluted prune juice, diluted apple juice or corn syrup and warm water will help.
If you are giving any type of solids, apple sause will help a little. |

Here is what the Mayo clinic suggests.

My grandmother always told me to put Caro syrup in their bottles. About 2 Tbsp. per bottle. It ways seemed to help. For immediate relief, get a fleets glycerin suppository, for children, and it will help with about 30 minutes.

My two month old baby seems to be constipated and he is very unhappy crying all day.. Is there anything I can do to help him out at all or am i just screwed and have to wait it out? Do you nurse or use formula? Babies that are nursed don't normally have this problem. If you nurse, you may need to call a doctor. |

Do the prune juice, but only about 3 tablespoons for a child this young. Add it to the formula, trust me. my son is 21 months old and I did this last year! |

Listen to Kitten.... if in doubt call the RN at your pediatrician's office for confirmation and/or alternate solutions.

fennel tea with formula will help alot, just replace water with fennel tea and mix....if you are breast feeding , drink a WEAK glass of senna tea and you will both be less constipated.
be careful with the senna...it is a strong but natural laxative and will come thru the breast milk a wee bit, enough to help without harm...if you are not breast feeding do not use it...use the fennel good luck! |

2 month old babies should not be on any solid food
NO HONEY OR SUGAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! corn syrup is sketchy ....i wouldn't use it personally...but it won't kill him. biologically grown /organic fennel....amazing and for cramps and colic it is a life saver along with chamomile :o) |
