Shshsh glad ya'll finally listened to the one I posted for they are one and the same I did listen to the MaDonna and you could tell the difference big time.
Eartha Kit actually recorded that song in 1953 and was a big hit. Covered in recorded and live performances by many other artists throughout the years, including Maria Muldaur, Everclear, RuPaul, Taylor Horn, Madonna, Jhene, Macy Gray, Natalie Merchant, Faith Evans, Boney James, Kylie Minogue, The *****cat Dolls, Lina, LeAnn Rimes, Kellie Pickler, and Taylor Swift, as well as in an Ally McBeal episode by the title character (Calista Flockhart), by Chris Mitchell, and by The Swingle Singers. Miss Piggy sang the song in the film It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie and recorded another version for the album A Green and Red Christmas. |

Eartha Kit is amazing. I could be wrong, but it just didn't sound like her to me. I will listen to more when I get home from work. Have a nice night everyone. get home safely the more I listen it doesn't sound like Eartha Kitt, she had a raspier voice and the never ending 'r's. I'd like to know who sung the first url I posted |

Nobody did the obvious and asked me??
Yes, it is indeed Eartha Kitt from 1953. Her biggest hit. No, she was not the "original" Catwoman (she was actually the last from the original TV series). |

Ok, after listening to several versions I conceed that it is indeed Eartha Kitt. I had only heard scratchy old recordings & seen the black & white video of her in the white fur.
I am sorry to tell you she died today, Christmas Day. What an exit, as she was leaving Earth people all over the planet must have been listening to her sing. I found this on You Tube, Eartha Kitt singing "Santa Baby" just 2 years ago at 79 years of age, still amazing! Look at those legs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzd6oCP3FKk&NR=1 |

It feels odd that we were just talking about her song and then she passes on Christmas Day. |
