Ok, I am new to this site but was on one very much like this before and I am running into the same thing as on the last site. I receive an email from a man that is interested in me and I am not interested back so I politely email them back thanking them for their interest but I don't feel the same interest and wish them the best of luck in finding someone else. Then lo and behold I get an email back being insulted with various names, etc.

Being rejected in the world of dating is COMMON. I have been rejected many times but I am not going to insult the man rejecting me because he just doesn't feel a connection. That is how life works. If you take the chance to email someone with interest you have to also take the chance you will be rejected. I sent a few emails out to men I thought would be a good match and was politely told to take a hike or not even responded to at all. It is all part of the dating game. If you cannot handle rejection then I highly suggest you get some help to deal with those issues or don't take the chance at all.

Well I suppose I should just not reply at all...probably what I will do in the future. I just don't like being rude, but apparently being rude is more accepting. frustrated

It is amazing that this man would respond back to you in this way..although I don't like getting replies that return with the lack of interest...as we all sometimes feel, it is better then getting no response at all. You showed him a very nice jesture in responding to him, and he revealed his true nature as well, at least this confirms your initial feelings.. I just hope that woman don't think that all us men are like that..

well i can only speak for myself on this one. but i know me personally would rather get an email back stating their lack of interest than just be ignored. god knows i have gotten my fair share of rejection hell we all have im sure. but theres no reason to be mean to somebody else. now if the rejection email was mean then i could understand. but i highly doubt that was the case in this particular incident.

I think that there are some men (NOT ALL) out there that think that if a woman is on a dating site, then they will be grateful for anyone paying them any attention.

They seem to think that any woman on a dating site is desperate. Yet they don't think it says anything at all about themselves to be on one.

I think the ones that send those rude and/or nasty emails to women who turn them down already have issues with women and low opinions of women.

They probably have had trouble getting or keeping girlfriends, and since they think women online are desperate, they think they will be easy.

I prefer the ones that don't answer back. At least I don't have to read nasty replies to my 'not interested' message.

I tend to agree with what you have posted. I also think for men and women an online format gives them more "courage" to approach others. Like I said earlier if you are going to take the chance in approaching someone be prepared to be rejected. I have decided that I will just delete those I am not interested in. At least that way the rejected have a reason to call me names. LOL

What really grinds my gears about online dating is when people send messages and you send them one and they never write back again, that really pisses me off!

Then you have issues. Some people would rather say nothing than something mean. Although it does get tiresome after reading a long profile coming up with like 40 questions and never hearing anything back but then again that's life. If you walk down the street and say hi to 50 girls you might get 5 to say hi back but they won't necessarily stop and talk to you. In my case I don't have to say hi but you get the message.

The world is full of self-absorbed idiots.

In real life, not everybody is going to like everybody. That's nobody's fault, it's just a simple reality.

You're better off without those people in your life, anyway. Be glad they revealed their true colors as quickly as they did. You can block them from contacting you further -- or you can report them for abuse.
