I have two WoW folder on my desk. One for the live servers and one for the small, local server.
I've been on the local server almost all year. And wow, did I miss a lot of updates on the live server. I'm loading them all now to try out the free trial of the Return of the Lich King. It is taking a long time. I hear that unlike other free trials, this one is more limited and you can't really talk to people. So it will be interesting to check out. |

Probably better off if you don't. It is addictive. I love it. I find the local server too quiet. It is hard to get 5 of us on at the same time. My friends here hate the live server. They tried, too many people. I miss the chatter as I quest. |

I can't imagine playing wow on a local server. It is a social game. Dealing with the thousands of other people are a big part of its magic.
The other people are what gets your heart pumping. |

It is fun when you are with a group you actually know outside the game.
But I did miss all the chatter going on. And over 4 years, the Barrens Chat hasn't changed at all. No matter the server... I wonder why that is...... |
