This individual on October 31, 1517 a Saxon Monk tacked his Ninety-five Theses to the door of Wittenberg's castle church, and the world was never the same.

His denunciation of priestly huckster's "get out of sin free" indulgences started a revolt that ended Western Christendom's twelve hundred years off ideological unity touched off a century and a half of religious warfare, and stimulated nationalism and capitalism. Reformer Desiderious Erasmus tried to get this monk to tone down the attacks on the pope, but this Saxon Monk was pigheaded.

Using the new printing technology to whip up a following, this monk belittle the sacraments, argued for state power over religions, and championed heresies we now consider commonplace. Decades later Catholic emperor Charles V said his worst mistake was not hanging this monk.

Do you know who I am talking about and what are your thoughts of this monk and how he handled the Christian faith system.

What are your thoughts on the monks intention of "get out of sin free"?

absolved from past sins, but still accountable b/c only way to not be accountable is to not know of the presence of God and just about every living creature is aware of the presence of God. IMO
