1. RUSH- Never have heard three guys who seperately are great, but collectively are out of this world. Pert is the best drummer ever. Hands down.
2. SLAYER- It's thrash metal, and everyone argues that it all sounds the same, but these four guys originated that sound, made the best thrash metal album of all time (Reign in Blood), and collectively sound smooth, even when playing at all speeds. 3. THE DOORS- Jim Morrison's vocals still amaze me to this day, and you have to think of "what could have been" had not Jim died when he did. Yes, they were big, but I still believe they could've been even bigger. 4. U2- Bono is a gifted frontman. Edge is a better guitarist than most give him credit for. Collectively, this is a band that has always had "IT" and never lost it. How many bands have survived different musical era's like U2 has. When grunge hit in the 90's, U2 was still their and still selling out huge arenas. When pop music made a comeback, U2 came back and showed that not even that scene could kill them. 5. AC/DC- With both Scott and Johnson on singing lead vocals, this band never lost what it had. Back In Black is one of the best all time albums. What I love most about AC/DC is that they have managed to survive, together (minus Scott's death) this long. And don't you just feel good when you hear a Angus Young riff start a song? |
