I am selling a phone adapter off a website.. however I was asked this question by some one who might want to buy it and I am unsure how to answer, so any help would be greatful.

Here is his or her question ...

" Is this adapter already unlocked? or does it work with only one service provider? "

Thanks for any body that might know the answer to this so I can reply back to this person.

A phone adapter rather, is a product you hook up to your high speed cable / DSL etc, to give you a low monthly cost for your phone service vs paying high monthly fees through a landline etc.

This usually refers to a cell phone. Most service providers "lock" the phone that is to work on their service. A phone that was used on AT&T would be locked to that provider, and would not work on T-Mobile. There are some cell phones that are "unlocked" and can work on any service provider. Hope this helps you.

That is a digital phone adapter...such as you get with Vonage service(which I have). Cable companies that also offer this same phone service also have their adapter locked to there particular service.

No problem. Who ever bought it would still have to pay for the service. Then the adapter may not work with the service they want to use. Good luck. Most service will furnish an adapter with their service plan.

Yeah.. I wasn't sure if the service even works any more, it's my bad.. I guess cause I didn't think much more about it until I just got an email about it. So I am guessing the buyer may not want to buy it any more after finding this infor out.
