Very cool thread JB. The cards you are using are beautiful - I love the imagery! Are these your designs?

My good friend Darla and I designed them on the computer for our personal use. (We used pictures we found on the Internet so there are copyright problems in their use for sale.) We can't sell this deck, but we are designing another one that will be printed and sold. We have 15 more to complete.

With this deck, we printed it on our computer, then laminated the sheet and cut the cards ourselves for use.

Daily Tarot Energy Reading
December 20 2008

Card Drawn: Seven of Pentacles

Pentacles is about the physical world, money and finances and anything you are manifesting in your reality. The seven tells you that it is time to take stock and evaluate your achievements and trust that the projects you've set in motion can now move forward under their own momentum. This could be a business or a creative project.

Our card shows two people sitting at a table with food about to have their lunch. They are looking at their home and they are watching their ships come in. They have more work to do but they are almost there and they are enjoying the process.

The reading:

Your projects are clicking along nicely and you take you clues from synchronicities, hunches and impulses. You have what it takes. Your hard work is about to pay off financially. You feel pride and fulfillment in what you've done and now you reflect on where you've been and where yo would like to go.

This card must have been a reflection of my energy for today because I got quite a way on the portrait I started yesterday and I look at it and feel confident that it will be completed with no problems. For me, half the work is setting up the design and composition and deciding on the colors and technique to use. The next tough and tedious job is getting the drawing on the canvas accurately and laying it in with a brown under-painting. Now this portrait is another ten percent done. The finish is about 40% left and it is, for me, the fun part. Then I will get my financial reward for the work, and hopefully make someone very happy in the process.

bigsmile

The seven of pentacles is a fitting energy for my day.

Daily Tarot Card Energy reading

December 21 2008

Card Drawn:

Nine of wands:

One last test or challenge remains. You feel as if you've come to the end of your fighting powers, but you have skill and determination in reserve. You're actually in a position of strength. Although you'll need to draw on all our courage and abilities, you prevail. Start planning your next course of action. Think before you leap.

The above was strait from the book and it sure does apply to me and the portrait I am working on. I am about 70% finished with it and still wondering if I can get it done in time for Christmas and if it will be good. This reading tells me that I will, but that I will have to draw upon all of my skill and knowledge to do it.

I was hoping to draw a card that might be for someone else reading this thread, and this one might be, but it sure applies to me too.

This card is about surmounting that last obstacle.

THE BOOK SAYS ALSO IN A READING:

Just when things seems to be clicking right along, you hit a glitch, a brief pause. It's a minor setback due to a miscommunication, but it bothers you nonetheless. One final interview stands between you and that job or club membership you covet. One more exam and you'll be accepted to the college of your choice, receive a clean bill of health, pass the bar, get your drivers license. Be patient, keep your own counsel. Once the last obstacle is overcome, you're home free.

That makes sense. I have to sit the midterm exam of my course on Tuesday, and having caught a stomach bug these last few days leaves me to wonder since I don't seem to be able to keep the information in my head. This reading though tells me that I will succeed none the less.

Thank you, I really needed this.flowerforyou

Good luck and get well.

I know the feeling about not being able to keep the information in your head. I'm that way with math. Once I studied and studied for a math test (word problems) and when I got to class the same problems came up and I reached up there into my mind and ... nothing. It was not there anymore. So strange.

What I did was sit there and write a poem instead of finishing the test. I handed it in. It began like this:

How came I here in this ghastly Greek palace
among these green and yellow people?

I don't remember the rest of the poem.

Energy Reading December 23 2008
Nine of swords.

I call this card the worry card. It is all about mental stress. In looking at it right now I see that this has been the energy of my day today. Not really worry, but stress.

While the ten of swords is one that I call the "Woe is me!" card the nine of swords is the "Oh My God!" card.

I guess I have been worried now that I think about it. Worried about the stress of the Holiday dinner on Christmas which my mom wants to have at her tiny house. This means that I have to get it all ready.

I'm worried about getting this portrait done in time for a Christmas present and I'm stressed about whether they will love it or not. My sister Karen says its looking really good... but showing it to the client is always stressful.

It has been a nine of swords day, and I am so tired.

<Warning: nine of swords rant>

I want to swear off all holidays but people keep forcing them on me.

I hate that they are all about fixing a huge meal and eating yourself into a coma. And then you have to clean up the mess. frustrated

I just want a hot dog or a pizza for Christmas. What would be wrong with that? But nnnooooo they want a Christmas ham.

I think I'll just shoot myself.sad

</End of rant>

Jb I can really relate on this one. I just want to relax and enjoy my holiday but the pressure is on to run around and do the family thing. I am feeling very stressed today as well and just want it to be over.

Yeh why can't they just let us be? Bah humbug! I want to lock the door to my apartment and not come out until next year.

I'm usually a very cheerful and positive person but it feels good to be grumpy and rant sometimes.

I can't wait until Christmas is all over and we get rid of all those stupid Christmas shows on television.

Daily energy Tarot Card reading.
Card Drawn: THE STAR

I'm glad to see this card today. I was up all night working on that portrait and it is finished. Now I need some sleep.

The star is balance and harmony and inner peace. This is a card of calm, renewal, and healing. A new cycle begins. The reading says that your persistence and hard work pay off big time. You experience profound peace that springs from the unconscious. You're doing what you were born to do.

(Peace from the unconscious means that I need to get some sleep.) laugh laugh laugh

The more positive your outlook and plans, the better your prospect for success. The Star fulfills promises and brings good fortune in general.

********

I had an idea of what I want to do with my art skills in the future. (Not portraits, that's for sure.) But what I need is to set up my studio to photograph my paintings and get good shots of them to put on a website for sale.

I have a garage full of canvases and a bunch of original designs we have left that did not make it into the tarot deck that I want to paint. The deck is almost finished and there are some specific cards I want to paint for display at our booth when we start marketing our tarot deck.

I have lots of work to do and some great ideas.

Life is good.

Thank you STAR.

December 25, 2008 Christmas

Card drawn: The world

This card certainly rings true for me today as Christmas seems to be the climax of the year for holidays and the real end of the year. Plus, for me, it does feel like the end of an ordeal, not just Christmas but something else that I can't put my finger on.

Oh yes, I did finish that Portrait commission I was working on. That was a relief. The client loved it.

It is about the end of a story and the beginning of another one. From this date to the new years we will regroup and have an intermission and then we will start a new story and a new year.

It may seem corny for some people but I always set new goals with each new year and this year I want to focus on my painting and building a website for my art.

We have just about finished our new tarot deck and we will begin a new story in our journey to getting it printed and marketing it. It is the end of the creation phase of the project and the beginning of the marketing phase.

The card above is a happy one. It says joyfully, THE END.

And it lets us know that a new adventure is going to present itself.

That is what this card means to me at this moment on this day.

I feel joyful. I feel excited. Have a wonderful holiday!

It really does feel like the end of an ordeal. This year was rough. I'm ready for it to be over. But, I don't feel very excited. I feel like someone who was hit by a train and is now in the hospital recovering. But, at least it's over and I'm getting better.

Physically I am exhausted. The excitement has yet to reach my physical body. But in my heart and mind I am very excited.

Energy Reading for December 28th 2008

Card Drawn: Queen of Wands

I love the energy of this card. It is the exact energy I need today.

The queen of wands is businesslike and exuberant about everything she does. She is creative and she uses her creativity to generated excitement and energy in her work and so she seems to have lots of energy.

As a person, she is a woman who often works two or three jobs. She is passionate about things she believes in. Her temperamental behavior can infuriate even the people who are closest to her, but its simply part of who she is. They usually accept it because she isn't going to change. She's all fire, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius.

The reading:

Today is a day to focus on work and get a lot of things done that you have been putting off. You are filled with new ideas but don't try to get them all done today, just get them started.

For me, this is the energy I need today. I have a lot of things I want to do and its time to get started. I will see how much I can get done today and I will summon the energy of the Queen of Wands to help me.

Thank you! flowerforyou

Yes, I can't stay away from my friends. Aside from Darla, my sister and my parents, you on this club are the only friends I have. laugh

It is late but I will do an energy reading for the moment, for Thursday, 10:53 my time in Colorado. January 8, 2009.

Card Drawn at this time is: THE TOWER

"Sheesh. Oh My! "

That is usually the expression when this card is drawn from deck. This card symbolized the breaking apart of structures that have kept you imprisoned. So in that respect it can be a good card, especially if you seek to be free.

This card shows the castle tower being struck by lighting and surrounded by a stormy sea. A fire breathing dragon is also mounting its attack. One way or another the tower must come down.

The core of the tower's meaning are sudden unexpected changes. They crash into your life out of nowhere.

But if you are entirely honest with yourself about what you believe and the patterns you have set into motion in your life, you realize this card has appeared because of an inner urge to break free.

This card is a wake-up call. A violent upheaval is in the offing. It may be something as weird as your house being struck by lightning or as unexpected and shattering as your spouse announcing that he or she is leaving. Even though this card portends surprising events, it's actually about sweeping your life clean.

When I first see this card, depending on the question that was asked in a reading, I think... things are falling apart.

The crumbling of the tower is a symbol of the breaking apart of structure and the revealing and facing of the truth. It is an over throw of existing conditions that brings new opportunity and a fresh start.

Along with the tower comes sudden enlightenment, the kind that surges from deep within, and sweeps into your life.

Something causes your eyes to be opened. So instead of seeing the tower as a disaster, know that it will also bring spiritual growth and enlightenment and positive change. (But brace yourself for the rough ride.)

Duct tape is always good. Around the mouth it keeps them real quiet. laugh laugh laugh

Once my Dad was complaining about having paid $125.00 for the recovering of the seat in his pickup which had been torn. I thought $125.00 was not a bad price, even though I would have never paid that for an old pick up. My Dad was always very frugal and I was surprised he had spent that much. Anyway, I looked at him and asked him: "What, you never heard of duct tape?"

That's how I always fixed my seat covers.

This card always comes up for me (I say always, but it's not very often over the years) when I am doing a serious evaluation of my religious/spiritual beliefs.
