Who is a Servant?

Does Scripture tell us?

When you go out to eat or anywhere where you have someone wait on you help you or serve you how do you treat them?

Do you show discipleship and love to them when you are served?

Blessings...Miles

To me nobody is a servant. We all get paid to do our jobs.

Though working as a waitress, I was often treated like one.

She waits on my table, certainly. Doesn't make her a servant though. She still is a fellow human being, no more, and no less.

Many would say that they are a servant to God or Christ, or Mohammed, or Buddha.

I say I am a servant to those who are nice to me and truly to those who have the best interest of my welfare.

For to have good done to you one must do good to another.

I'm NOT a Christian but I can tell you that most waitresses and more Saint the servant. I tend to use my sense of humor to lighten their day, and to let them know I appreciate them.

I personally would not last a day in some places where I have seen waitresses treated like personal slaves.

I tend to stand up to twits that treat waitresses with disrespect.

Scripually a servent is anyone who like was said above helps you with your well being in mind.

I believe IMO.. That the word has taken on a different meaning that is negative today.

People who work where serving you be it a bell boy, waitress, maid valet. At the end of the week those who they serve/help are part of thier income. Not that in most cases you have to give.

This is why I brought this up. It is a biblical practice to take good care of those who serve you.

In todays world that would mean part of those services is giving cheerfully to them.

You are to be a beacon.. A light to the World...Blessings...Miles

I bring this up because we are not taught what the scriptures really say or tell us what a right attitude is towards your fellow man.

Many people do not realize the Bible says tipping is part of it for a service where the employee's employer sets thier tips as part of thier salary.

We are not to be of this world but we are to be in it.

The things of this world are not ours. So these things should be no problem. Expect it and want to do it. As this is a key to being a cheerful giver.

You will be blessed. The person who served you will also be looking foward to you coming back.

It just may brighten thier day when you walk in.

We are not to add to the word or take away.

Yet we do all the time by our actions.

not that we are trying to neccessarily.

We just have not been told and seen our brethern practice being a well rounded individual.

We worry about and our told about all these sins we are to stay away from.

Not to be unequally yoked.

We are also told to do everything in moderation.

Addictions of all kinds are ramped.

So hopefully we can discuss some issues. Get down to what are the scriptures really saying.

So I will leave you with a list of common sins most of us are told over and over do not do.

Is this man talking or your Heavenly father?

What are these and how do you sin by it?

Smoking?

Drinking?

gambling?

Cursing?

just to name a few normal society behaviors we are all around all the time.

Blessings of Shalom...Miles

A True Servant helps others with a cheerful heart with no expectations. It is strictly in Love. That person is filled with the Spirit of Love.

we all are a servant to something somewhere. thus is the true "battle of armageddon". whom shall ye serve? it is within each and every one of us, shall we serve man, or money? love or lust? greed or need? each other or no brother's? are we part of the problem, or are we part of the answer? only the individual themselves can answer these questions. who am I? and whom or what shall I serve? God bless!

I try to treat people the way I would want to be treated. I also leave a big tip...even if the person doesn't deserve it. We all have our bad days.

A "servant" is someone who has a presence of grace when helping others... I always admire nurses & people in the health profession. There is something about those people that I admire.

Another group are the law enforcement. another thankless job but special, very special people only can serve properly.

We should appreciate people who do certain jobs...not everyone has the brains or ability or hospitaple personality to do certain jobs..so they aren't "just a job."
