Oh sure you can believe whatever you want to be truth. That is the entire premise behind faith. Its the ability to accept something as fact in the face of empirical evidence to the contrary or in complete lack of credible evidence to support its validity. Thats not really the point of faith.

Perhaps one way to find out to answer some of the hard questions we humans always ask is to figure out how to create a spaceship that actually can fly light speed to see other galaxies.

I always thought that ever since mankind has stared up in the skies asking the hardest questions without knowing the answers that many of our religions have started. For example: At one time when the sun went up Ra was awake conquering Set. Then of course Ra would be conquered by Set when night came. A constant back and forth battle between good and evil and perhaps even the starting point at one time to create future war thriving religions. Who knows? One can only speculate as this individual who may have been a scribe at the time just decided to write this down and add from there.

but perhaps the best way to get some of these answers that seem to go on for years in the forums between those who have faith in the writings of a book and those who want answers through proof anything or anykind is to create a "Spaceship"!

yes I said it and it sounds utterly ridiculous for many, but I am sure if we humans somehow can create a spaceship that can fly to other galaxies through warp speed or faster without losing half of our face in the process we may come upon planets with civilizations who can answer more about what we wonder. Not only answer them but provide evidence.

Just ideas rolling through my mind as we speak. I am sure such a ship will not exist in my lifetime, so I am just contempt with the enjoyment of life with knowledge as it is given to me.

I think a lot of the answers can be found directly in our ancient mythologies from all over the world today. Also in physical and cultural anthropology and also archeological excavations. From this we know that the Sumerians created huge stone tablets depicting their religious beliefs. The Christians took these myths directly and would record them in the bible several thousands of years later.

Depends what questions you are asking specifically and the accompanied bias and agenda. As humans, we all tend to carry that with us.

yes many questions can be answered, but not all that occur in our minds. I am sure there are some you ask yourself and cannot answer:smile:

Those that we cannot answer even with the help of evidence we find on earth could be very interesting to attain at one time and that is where my super fast spaceship comes in play.

Perhaps and I say perhaps more knowledge can be acquired if we discover new territories in and out of our system.

Yeah but aside from having a super fast spaceship that can break the light speed barrier....I mean come on Smiles. Work with me here. We have what we have. When police are investigating a crime scene they have to rely upon the evidence that is left for them.

Well, my beliefs fit in with the way I live my life.

I have chosen them carefully, therefore there are not too many questions left for me.

Yes we have come a long way that is true, yet there are still a great many things unanswered that even scientists are trying to figure out.

and of course we can work on the supernatural that can't be explained unless one wants a easy way out and just say "God did it" and that ends the discussion there. Not that this couldn't be the answer, but for some it just isn't enough.

I would say that yes we have come a long way and if mankind can survive in the future without destroying life as we know it then I am certain more will be discovered that will answer some of the questions we didn't know in the past.

I don't know. I'm going to Mass today because it's the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. And, tonight I will be doing yoga and a little witchcraft. I have no idea where I belong. laugh

When people cant compartmentalize your religion or spiritual beliefs to their satisfaction, they tend to become very uncomfortable with you and somewhat resentful.
So as far as religion is concerned are you saying we should be that religion that we choose to practice only while at some event and not when we are out amoung the rest of the population? Or are you saying, you should only practice your religion inwardly, and do whatever you want in the physical sense?

However, try finding a book about Wicca in a Bible Book Store. You might want to send in an expedition of coal miners with lights in their helmets to assist you. laugh

If you ask for one a giant hole opens up in the floor that you fall into and are never heard from again.

I am who I am and am open about my beliefs regardless of who I am with. My coven knows I go to mass and my catholic friends know I am a witch. I have no secrets.

We are returning this thread, minus the drama and insulting remarks. I apologize for the delay.

Please discuss the topic in a civil manner.

Thank you,

Mark
