BUT,

The "War" has been going on for how long now?

My friend was sent over for his THIRD tour he was promised ONE year and then back in the states and home soon after that, he's in the reserves.

He left on January 2. 2007.

Spent a month or so in Texas and then off to Iraq. That put him home around April or May at the latest.

He just got word that he will be IN Iraq til at least July.

I'm not very happy about that.

If anyone wants to send packages to him or his unit, email me and I'll give you details.

I'm venting......

I guess there's nothing to correct my "wrongness" about.

I can do what I can and send what I can, sweetie.

I already have a few soldiers there that I send stuff to.

But I am more than happy to adopt another!

I hear you..my brother was in Iraq for 4yrs...the stories he told me almost knocked me out.

What is really bothering me, is nobody can give me an answer when this war is actually "won".

What is "winning"? When we can say "we have won the war" because_________________(fill in the line) ?

I can't send until after the holidays, but I'll email you to get some info.

My neighbor got back from Iraq last year.

He's going to Afghanistan in February.

I have a cousin in the marines and his wife is a marine, they bring one home and call the other one out. They have barely seen one another in 3 years

I think that war started in March 2003, didn't it??? Or was it 2004???? Geeeeze, time flies.

I hear ya hun! My dad wasn't over there for very long, but he came back severly injured. He did however spend a ton of time in Bosnia. The whole three years we lived in Germany, he was supposed to be in Bosnia for 6 months, ended up there almost two years.

Canadians lost 3 more yesterday,..

It's "war" Lily; be thankful we have them to serve. We don't even need a draft! Lotsa people on here did their service so we can continue what we do. I've no regrets: I volunteered in 1970 (17 out of High School) and my service training has served me all my life. Your friends will, too.

I'm not sure if you understand my message here, but I obviously AM thankful for him and all of our other soldiers...who fight in a senseless war that has no begining or ending.

I support our troops not this war.
