I unscrewed the psi gauge with the well pump turned off. I got a mixture of air and water escaping. The pipes didn't freeze and the air gauge went back to zero which means my air gauge is still good. Leaves only one thing - the relays. I am guessing the points burned out like they normally do. 
How insulated is it, the bulb and heat wire wasn't enough?. In maine lots of people put a temp cover over pump access to keep in the heat from the bulb,and heat wire. Good luck! Hope you don't have to mess with it all day! ... I don't think it insulated well enough. I go this every year. It is either the relays burning out or the pipes freezing up. This time I was lucky with the psi gauge. You should see this well pump house my mother had made. It is made of all doors.  Mom found a place where a door business went out of business and made a whole pump house out of it. I guess I should call it the door house. I ain't knocking Mom though. I mean four acres of beautiful country with a two bedroom house for $250.00 a month, an orchard and two garden areas; I would be crazy for leaving here. I am so glad for me the guy who wanted to buy it from her backed out.

I am just glad one of the doors actually opens up. Yeah. Necessity is the mother of invention. I ought to get Mom to patent the idea. It is so rural where I live we have to pipe in sunshine. On the radio we only get One Dog night.
