For those of you that don't know me
I am Chris I deliver papers in the morning for extra money I do this because it is easy, fast , and I get pad a lot for a minimal amount of work Any way On my way home in the mornings I see some really weird things sometimes This morning for example A very small deer ran out in front of my car Now I wasn't exactly awake but I managed to lock my brakes up without endangering the fairly young deer or myself What puzzles me is the absolute refusal of the deer to leave the road So I pulled up slowly and tried to touch it I got within three inches before it ran off into the shadows I have been close to a deer before But never close enough to pet one At least not a live one any way Has anyone else ever been that close or actually touched one I was just curious |

I saw one almost that close up in the woods one day, we were on our
four-wheelers and talking and carrying on, when we saw it just standing there looking at us. It was a young one too, walked over to it and got real close before it went into the woods, wasn't even running hardly, it wasn't scared of us at all. We found out later it was one that some folks had found orphaned and took it in, then let it free when it got older. Poor thing probably didn't make it through the first deer season, it didn't know to be scared. Bet it tasted good though! |

When I was married I lived in a house that was surrounded by 300 acres
of privately owned woodland. No hunting allowed! Deer used to come into our yard a lot...one time there were six of them drinking out of our goldfish pond. Never did get close enough to pet them, of course. They weren't tame deer. But they got to where they wouldn't freak out if they saw us and they wouldn't run away. Those were expensive goldfish...that was a waste of money cuz the racoons ate 'em. |

At a petting zoo. I have seen videos of a wild deer bucking a human with
it head for getting so close. So beware, it is not a smart thing to do, you could get hurt. |

if you're going to hit a deer, you are suppsed to speed up because if
you slow down and hit it, it is going to come through the whindshield, but if you hit it at a high speed its going to reduce the risk of it coming through the whindshield and killing or injuring you. its a tru fact. |

When we'd drive out in the pastures at night before we got the big dogs.
There was 18 deer that would browse thru there & the babies would stay laying down when we would roll up on them. like they felt safer then getting up & runnning. would never try to touch one because I wouldn't want to have to raise it if the mom rejected it.. |
