Silent Witness
I've never been the type To keep a silent tongue, Yet now I stand in silence For now the pain has come. Each day a new crime rises Though the criminals Aren't really new. Their actions aren't expected That's how they get to you. Within this mortal plane They exist in every spot Yet within their moral pain There's something that's been lost. They take without a mercy And steal what's never theirs While they stab the hearts of victims They'll never know or ever care. They don't know the cost Of losing something dear They don't feel the pain As eyes begin to tear. Still yet they all are playing A game misunderstood While writing out the details Within a little book. Each thing they steal away Gets recorded on their soul, Each tear drop that they cause Is a witness They'll surely one day know. Once they close their eyes And think they lay in rest It's then they'll wake in darkness While their silent tongues protest. Deceptions fade like liquid As their book of life is read, Spoken by their souls And witnessed by the dead. No sentence will be rendered No cell will hold theim locked Yet justice shall be served By the terrors in the dark. Fadedspirit 12/1/2008 |

Sings "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine, this little light of mine..."
Your poem sounds very dark. Sending you a flashlight for Christmas and a candle to keep the flame of hope burning! ((fadedspirit)) |
