Topic: Is this really weird?

I'm 30, have never been married and have no kids. Is that really that strange? I get questions about it sometimes. I guess I don't find it strange because most of my friends in this area are the same way. Those who are married with kids have recently gotten married or had kids.

Not at all. I have a close friend that got married a year or two, ago. She was 39 and her husband 44. First marriage for both. Now she has twins.

Nice to see that some others don't find it strange. Most of the people I went to high school with did get married right out of school and now have 3-4 kids. Which is fine. But, when I moved out of town and met a whole bunch of new people.. they were all more like me. Not rushing to marry.

I'd say a majority of people are married or have kids by the time they are 30, I see more & more people who are 40 that are grand parents now.

I know there are many on this site who already have been married and had kids. But, I'm noticing a lot more lately who are around my age who aren't. Maybe it's just this area.

Most of my friends got married right after high school and now they are divorced or getting divorced and fighting over custody of the kids. No thank you. Glad I never got married.

weird, absolutley not. You decide for yourself when you want to settle down, I think it is smart to wait until you are older, you know yourself better and what you want.

I guess the part I find weird is when the guys ask why I haven't been married.. like there's something wrong.

About two weeks ago my mom said to me "if you aren't married or in a relationship by the time you're 31 you should consider artificial insemination" WTH???
