Topic: How do you love God? | |

The moment that each individual loves others (and self) beyond any pictures that conscious mind paints and truly know and feel that thread that connects the collective is perhaps the moment that the idea of loving god can make sense for all. |

I was flipping channels one day and I saw a preview for a show about a priest. He was talking to a woman. He said to her, "I love you, but I love God more." This really infuriates me. How can anyone love an invisible God? God can not be real to a person. God does not walk the earth, he does not have a body, no one can know him, talk to him, see him, tough him, etc. They only love an idea of what they think is God. So the question is... how do you love an invisible God? he is only invisible to you. Just because you don't believe or agree with something doesn't mean that you should ridicule those that do |

How do you love someone or something you can't see? I can't see God/Goddess, but I can feel Her and I can feel Her love. Therefore I am able to love Her back. |

I just want to know how a person "loves god." Do you love God? If so, how do you do that? Do you feel love? If so, for who and what? How do you express your love for God? |

you'll never know the answer to that for as long as you don't believe in God

What infuriated me with the priest telling this woman that he loved her but that he loved God more was that he was just not being honest. What he really meant was that he loved his chosen profession more and he did not want to spend his life focused on a wife and family, which can be very distracting. What he really meant was that he wanted to be free of the responsibility and limitations of a wife and family so he could do God's work or the work of the Church. If it were only about whether he loved her or God more, he could have had both. Many men and women who "love God" and put God first in their lives still can find room in their lives to love each other. Since when do we have a limited supply of love? It is only a limited supply of hours in the day that we are faced with. He did not want to spend the time to maintain a wife and family. That is what he was really saying. But he used the excuse that he "loved God more" as if there were some competition going on for his love. It just makes me mad that people can't be honest. And he was a priest. |

you'll never know the answer to that for as long as you don't believe in God What makes you think I don't believe in God? You don't know what I believe. I never said I did not believe in God. I have never seen God, and I just want to know how a person can claim to love God more than someone else if they have never seen God. |

you'll never know the answer to that for as long as you don't believe in God You still have not answered my questions. I was asking you. What I believe or not, has nothing to do with the questions I was asking you personally. |

Hey,,,,,,,,I was going to say that
With my Heart, Mind and Soul Next, How do you know there is air? You can't see it, it doesn't have a specific smell, and you can't feel it.......that is until the wind blows. How do you know there is co2? In the same way you can't see it, hear it, smell it, or feel it.......but without it plants wouldn't be able to live. It is almost the same with God. I would say that until you have made Jesus Lord of your life you can't hear and know Him, but that simply isn't true. (Read Acts 9 & 10 if your curious.) Besides, there are too many testimonies of extreme Muslims (really of most religions or lack thereof) where God or Jesus has spoke to them. There is a lady that I am particularly thinking of that was a police officer in Chicago. She pulled over a driver and when she went to the window he pulled out a gun and shot her numerous times. She was in the hospital and suppose to die, but the Lord visited her and told her she would live and to tell people about Him. She wasted no time. As soon as she left the hospital she packed her things and moved to Springfield, MO to goto Evangel. After she graduated she went right back to the streets of Chicago and began to preach and share Gods love. She had heard of Christianity but was not a church goer and not sure of what she believed previous to the accident. She taught a newcomers class I was in at church and later I read her full testimony in a Pentecostal Evangel magazine in 2000 or 2001 after she had already left. I read that she had been shot in the face several times (can't remember the exact number) but there were no scars; I would of never known that had I not read about it. What I am saying is just because you can't see, hear, or feel Him, does not mean He is not real. He is the most real thing in my life and if it were not for Him, I would probably be dead right now. The spiritual realm is just as real as the natural. Just as gravity and space are real. Yes, and even dinosaur fossils. And I promise, if you seek Him, you will find Him. I could go on and on, but my kids are home and hungry. Blessings |

So how exactly did the Lord visit her and tell her this? If the Lord was going to speak to me, I would hope that he would have been there to warn me that I was about to be shot in the face. That I would appreciate. Not that I don't believe in miracles. I do. I was spoken to by a voice (that sounded strangely like my own voice) once that warned me that there was a person hiding in the back seat of my car. I had no reason to know or believe this, I was sitting in a bar and my car was across the street in the darkness. That warning saved my life. There was indeed a man hiding in the back seat of my car. I brought three men with me to check it out. They thought I was nuts. But there he was. If a 'voice' or "the Lord" had come to me after I had been robbed and beaten and raped or almost killed by this guy and told me that I would "live to preach his word," I would have ask this voice or this Lord why now? What took you so damn long? Why could you not have spoken to me and warned me a little earlier? Talking to me after the attack or accident is not too helpful. If God is going to talk to me, I would hope that he would make it count, and not just to recruit me to preach his gospel. jb |

Instructions on how to love God
Okay in my case a Goddess 1. Imagine she is wearing a night gown almost see through. 2. Imagine she is slowly coming up to you revealing her beautiful body puckering her soft lips at you. 3. Now next step - Ask if you kiss her - always ask a goddess or you might get banished immediately! 4. Must I continue???? 5. Afterwords have a smoke and a nice glass of wine. If this doesn't work then try to be more creative the next time. Us chocolate syrup and whip cream |

Great idea !
I will tell you how I love God. There are days when I just feel love for life. No special reason. I feel joy and gratitude. My mind and heart whispers, "I love you!" and I don't know who or what I am talking to. I express this feeling with kindness and a good mood. Joy and gratitude permeate my day. My love is not directed to any personality, but to all that is. That is how I feel love and that is how I love "God." Expressing happiness and joy throughout my day. Feeling joy for no apparent reason. |

They express the same kind of love you have mentioned Whatever works best is probably good |
