Topic: Pine Sol and Chicken don't mix..... | |
---|---|
I'm taking a quick break from trying to get ready for Thanksgiving at my house. Put some Pine Sol in the sink water so I could wash the cupboards down. Chicken in the oven. God what a horrible smell the two mixed together.....
Anyhow..... I need some good ideas to spice up the mashed tators for Thanksgiving Dinner. I can google but I figure I'd ask the experts. I think there is some kind of mashed potatoes you can make ahead of time and put in a crockpot. Sound familiar to anyone? Recipes please! |

Fresh mint, butter, and sour cream. Most mashed potatoes will reheat well in a crockpot set to low.

I went to a mexican restuarant once that had just mopped the floors with Pine Sol..it was truly sickening!
To spice up the taters, try sprinking a bit of marijuana on them. |

I had to open a window the smell was so gross. Ummm, I don't think my mom would appreciate pot on the tators.....:) Plus, that's not something I keep in my spice cupboard. |

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
* 5 pounds red potatoes, cut into chunks * 1 tablespoon minced garlic, or to taste * 3 cubes chicken bouillon * 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream * 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened * 1/2 cup butter * salt and pepper to taste DIRECTIONS 1. In a large pot of lightly salted boiling water, cook the potatoes, garlic, and bouillon until potatoes are tender but firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, reserving water. In a bowl, mash potatoes with sour cream and cream cheese, adding reserved water as needed to attain desired consistency. 2. Transfer the potato mixture to a slow cooker, cover, and cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours. Just before serving, stir in butter and season with salt and pepper to taste. Think I'll try this one. Thanks SolitaryMan! |

a couple different things can be tried.
1. Mix in shredded cheese and MINCED garlic to taste 2. if you like ranch, add some powdered ranch to the mixed potatos 3. For soemting spicier, mince up some fresh jalepeno peppers and mix those in with the mashed potatos I have tried all three of these recipes and they work out excellent |

I was trying to get at something that I can do ahead of time so I'm not cooking while everyone else is visiting. |
