it's a pretty big deal for America to have elected a black President. It demonstrates the progress we have made since the Civil War when the country was a thousand times more divided than it is now But the history part is done. Now it's the day after and we'll just have to wait and see how he turns out I'll tell you something humbling that happened to me, Quiet. I saw him in St. Louis. There is a pic of me in front of the flag they had that day. When we were done taking pics, we turned around and saw the Old Courthouse here. The street sign said "Dred Scott". We commented about how far we had come. We just saw a black Presidential candidate speak and turn around and think about Dred Scott and his historical lawsuit when he sued for his freedom. Wow. Btw, Scott was unsuccessful. |

anybody know who was the FIRST black man nominated for Vice-Pres?
EDIT: sorry I had it wrong the first black man nominated for Vice Preseident was Frederick Douglas in 1872 |
