My son and I saw B B King this week -- 6th row--
He and his band put on an amazing show- and he is 83 years old. A great entertainer. I hope he comes to your town! |

Would be a great show, I'm sure. But I'd rather go see Les Paul -- he's still kickin' it at 93!

I'd rather see Robert Johnson but he's dead
not to knock BB, I dig him too and there is only one Buddy Guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuRhaDrnlWo |

haha and then he was poisoned
I remember Robert Plant in the History of Rock and Roll documentary he and Jimmy page both said "all the blues in history are just ripoffs of Robert Johnson" he meant that in a good way as a compliment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd60nI4sa9A |

Actually, to be more accurate (yes, I'm splitting hairs), Johnson recorded in San Antonio over three days in 1936, and recorded 16 songs, with alternate versions of many of them.

Seen B.B. King twice when I lived in Denver. Great shows both times. Clapton 8-10 times.
Went last night to a fund raiser sponsered by the Mid Michigan Blues Society the bands were: Church Hill Drive, Larry McCray, And Laith Al-Saadi, who is a dynamic live performer, you can check out his music online, just Google it. I have met and chatted with Laith and he is just a regular guy, very personable, friendly. We get some serious blues players up here from time to time. Rumor is RJ sold his soul.......... |

haha I was teasing. "Oh brother Where Art Thou" is really good. excellent dialogue. and it's a cleverly couched rendition of the Odyssey
Crossroads is kinda cheesy (as is any movie with Ralph Macchio) but it has a lot of good really good guitar playin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNuWtwOkgfo |
