Topic: Love at 50 and over is scary | |

I wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm here in Vegas and just getting ready to walk the strip, so I'm hoping it doesn't turn into one of those tv movies and I wake up married to a complete stranger. With my luck it would be someone 80 years old and worse yet a friggin man. God help me! Seriously though, with all the main holidays coming up, I hope all of you remain safe, healthy, and happy. If you get down or develop some sadness during the holidays, I hope you'll turn to us to help you through it and give you as much support as we can. Sincerely, Tom |

Hi all,
I did survive Vegas, and now back at my daughters place. I did deactivate my profile briefly because I didn't think I'd be back on for awhile. I left Vegas, still single, so that was a good thing. I didn't even spend as much money as I had planned. I would and may go back next year, and recommend the experience for anyone. Now, my task for the last couple of weeks has been searching for a home here in the Phoenix area. I hope to be able to find an inexpensive home here and do the snowbird life, and go home to northern Maine in the summer and fall. On the romantic side of life, I have met the absolute perfect mate, she is absolutely stunning, with a creative, artistic mind, has a wonderful knack for carrying on intelligent conversations, and loves public displays of attention. The only problem is, I wake up from that particular dream. Tom |

Just came across this topic. Did not read all the comments so not sure what all has been discussed but I want to add, without meaning to sound negative, but it seems as if once a person turns 50 it seems as if it is some sort of plague. It seems as if some people just do not want to be with anyone who turns 50.
Heck at 50 and above we still have alot of life left in us and our experience with life means we have alot to offer someone. |

Just came across this topic also, I believe that with age comes wisdom..at least for most. When we were younger, we'd throw caution to the wind, more often then not, would NEVER pay attention to that still small voice that was always telling us the best way, and we felt we had FOREVER in front of us, if we made mistakes, so what, starting all over again wasn't that big of a deal.
At 50, we KNOW that starting over isn't easy, we KNOW that there is no FOREVER, and no GUARANTEES in life. So hopefully, we stop and consider our options, choosing more wisely. Maybe it takes longer after we're 50 to find someone that we're actually WILLING to compromise. I honestly believe that if you dream it, hope for it, and still pursue it, whatever you dream for can be attained, just not always own OUR time table. Wishing you all the best. 50 is only 1/2 way. |

I feel that when a person meets the special person who enlightens their life, all fear gos. It will feel natural and both will know from the start. Usually you feel like you have known each other before you even met!!!!

Welcome to the family, you should find plenty of debates here. We all enjoy sharing opinions, another one from across the pond, will be interesting. Agree, when you find that certain one; things just click. Hope you will share more about yourself & life in England. Bonny is from there & Invisible, is from Ireland; if I remember right. |

Well, a good friend told me through an email that I fall in love too easy, Koolaid. You know what? She was right. Ever have one of these infatuations with someone and then later find out that you really can't stand that person? Everyone around is wondering what you see in that person and when you fall out of the infatuation you are wondering what your friends were wondering of what you saw in that person? Love sure can be blind at times. I have found that it also be deaf and dumb, too. ideed, I have been infatuated with someone I had nothing in common with cept the man could get my attention quicker than superman could get that first kiss from lois lane, people would say why are you in his company the man and you are like night and day, water and fire and when the infatuation lifted we became very good friends and we still dont have much in common he lives the fast life and I'm still very picky and alone,by choice that is,til my mr. do right comes along but if not I have gotten used to the drama free life style I live. |
