Topic: All right, I need some advise... | |
---|---|
Let me start by saying that if all you are going to do is talk down, or rude, then please go elsewhere.
Ok, with that said, here we go I met this lad on here (GO JUSTSAYHI! (sorry folks but "mingle2" did not exist in April of 2006, lol) almost two years ago. At the time I was flirting with another lady, and she as seeing someone else. Over the past 21 months, we have gone a long way together; sheis the best friend I have ever had, the light of my life. I go to sleep at night so I can dream of her, and then wake up the next morning in order to talk with her again that day. Corny, yes I know lol, but all true. For hose of you who hav seen some of my written work, you know how far she inspires me, and how much she has done for me these past two years, to include pulling me out of what almost became a major deep depression. Anyway, back to the topic at hand lol, I am getting ready to meet her next month for the first time in person. Now before I go further let me add, that we have worked together online in various radio stations, I have talked with her both over the net and over the phone for most of these two years, my boys both adore her, as she does them (my youngest who some will know gives me no end of grief as well as pleasure will listen to her when he wont listen to me lol). We currently live three hours apart, but that is going to change as soon as I get my finances straightened around and can move closer; not because I know everything is going to work out or anything, I happen to like the area she lives in. I spent several months thereover ten years ago while in the army. Yes I intend on seeing where things lead. She knows this; she also knows I do NOT expect anything to happen as far as ex until at least the engagement if notmarriage, cause she and I both have been through so much pain, I am not willing ot risk more pain for her. What I want to know is, what should I take with me as a "hello gift". I am not taking roses, but maybe a simpler flower. She loves cats, so I thought maybe a stuffed kitten. I would consider a cd, but she has so many songs it isnt even feasable, lol (she does work as a online dj after all). I amnot kidding myself in thinking that I am in love wih her now and she with me. I refuse to even consider anything like that until we have met and dated for at least 6 months if not longer. I DO know I love her dearly though, and always will. So what should I take with me when I go to meet her? |

I would just buy her something when you are down there with her..let her pick it out.
Good Luck, and I hope she is everything you imagine her to be and more!!!! |

I guess I am a bit more old fashioned than I thought, lol. I envision arriving there to pick her up with gift in hand (and nothing major or expensive, just something)

That is a good idea. But its nice to get something that you have put a little thought into. The stuff animal is cute because if she has the same feelings that you are feeling it will be something she will see everyday that will remind her of you! Good luck!

A live Orchid. I think it's the perfect gift for any woman, any age. They're beautiful, small, and a perfect addition to any decorum.. Plus, it will live and as it does, it will remind her of you-whether that be as friends or something more

Dont make a big thing about giving her a gift, you are her real gift.
I would say something she can keep forever, rather than a flower. Not sure what, you know her better than me. |

Not sure what, you know her better than me. oh I am not going to make a big thing out of it, first off she would chew my ass out as she knows what my finances are almost better than I do ; but I WULD like to get somethig small and thoughtfull. |

I would get her a totally cool microphone. Weird right? That's just me...but if she's passionate about her work and she loves what she does, I bet she would LOVE it. It doesn't have to be a working mic, but something vintage even. Sorry, I just though it'd be neat

I have this mental image of a grove of orange trees in miniature, lol...... And where can find them? http://www.1888orchids.com/harlequin_orchid_p/8880011.htm They come in soo many different colors and shapes, too. |

If i was a girl, which im not, and i liked flowers, which i dont, i wouldnt wanna receive them anywhere i would have to carry them around at all. If you are going to hers, then fine, otherwise id choose something else.
Send her a bunch though! How about a nice photoframe, and throughout your time with her you can take a picture of you both to fit in it. Girls like photos. |

some pretty wildflowers and while you're there ya'll press em in a book so she can keep em forever

Think back,. there have to be some clues as to what may totally blow her away. Certain chocolates. Pctures in a special frame. How about an empty frame to fill with a picture of the two of you meeting for the first time (along with a copy of Sleepless in Seatle)?
