Many people want readings at the very beginning of a new relationship to find out if this is "it". I have never once seen the cards give good indications on where a relationship is going or what it will turn out to be.

After doing many readings I have also learned, at least for me, that if the Ace of Cups (the marriage card for me) shows up in a reading for a brand new relationship, it's because one of the people is already in a serious relationship. Not because they will be getting married to each other.

Very interesting.

I did do a reading once about "where a relationship was going" and it was not going in a positive direction. The person I was reading was a control freak, and she would suspect him of cheating, and spy on him etc. It was a ten card spread and it was all there in the cards. She confirmed that she was a "control freak."

I told her the relationship would not be a good one and if she did not change her approach both she and him would be miserable and eventually break up. After all of that went in one ear and out the other, she asked me "Well will it work out?"

She was not listening at all. In my mind I knew the relationship would not last more than six months to a year.

I have refused to read for anyone for months at a time simply because of people like that. It drives me nuts and I know what you mean. They are not listening. At all.

Oh and I should clarify my statement:

I have never once seen the cards give good indications on where a relationship is going or what it will turn out to be AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE RELATIONSHIP.

Once a relationship has truly been established, whether it be a friendship or a romantic relationship, the cards will show strengths and weaknesses that will help or hinder the relationship.
