Let's see here...10 packs to a carton...and you need 3 cartons a month to "survive" on a limited income? That equates to at least a pack a day, right? ![]() Yup, I'm a non-smoker...and not a vigilante for non-smoking, but holy SMOKES, that sounds excessive to me, especially on a fixed income. I say quit smoking, and it would likely cure a lot of your problems, including the grubby neighbor who wants to bum off of you. ![]() that is a pack a day in april june sept nov more than a pack a day in feb less than a pack a day in jan marchmay july august oct and november |

Again, I'm NOT judging here, but your smoking seems incessive, especially if you say you are on a fixed income.
Would you be posting the same question if your neighbor were asking for a cup of sugar every week? I just think your financial priorities are a tad warped...given your current situation. Just a thought... ![]() Edit: Not to mention, after reading your profile, I think you may want to change your answer to smoking from "occassionally" to "frequently or freight train" or whatever option they offer for constant smokers like yourself. Just sayin'... ![]() |

I'm just wondering what you all think of this. I am on a fixed income, I do smoke, but I can only get enough of them for me to get through a month. That is usually 3 cartons for me. My question is, my neighbor who I don't know that well begs me for a pack when she has none, I gave her one once, now she makes it a habit, is it wrong for me to say I don't have any?? ![]() nope not at all you can be nice as you were, but when they come to expect it,is when you need to say no more |

People are off topic and talking about RedSoxFan instead of helping her with her question.
