Today was suppose to be great. The day I would FINALLY get to play the demo of Valve's newest edition to the family, "Left 4 Dead", was here at last. So off I went to class early this morning with the laptop in hand ready to download when I had a spare minute. I set up shop in the lounge, got out my lovely G7, and away I went.
The normal rush of people came in a few minutes later. The room started to fill and that's when it happened. The last straggler came in looking for a place to sit and noticed the one beside me with easy accesses to an outlet. Trying politely to push by the mass of gamers he just grazed by me. I thought nothing of it but noticed my cursor wasn't responding. I look down and to my horror saw half the wireless USB hanging off the remaining bit stuck inside the port. It felt like one of those "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" moments. -.- poor wireless usb, you will be missed. Anything like this ever happen to you? |

I can't say something like this has happened to me, but i have seen a lot of freaky things happen to computers. The weirdest 2 i can think of was one person when trying to stand up had their cd rom drive open and they put their hand directly on it and -snap- 1 + hand = two non-working parts. Another was a customer (when i used to work in a tech shop) came in and checked his computer in, we ran a virus scan and came up with over 1000 results (not exaggerating, but i was surprised it actually turned on) then he blamed us for putting them on there.
Oh also L4D is friggen sweet i think i've played the demo for a total of almost 20 hours now. If you host a server you can run console commands to be a zombie too :) |

i did that a few weeks ago. i had just finished a few hours worth of lord of the rings online, checked my email and was ready for bed. i set my laptop down on the bed and while getting ready i bumped it off...
the wireless usb did not survive. |

Not with a wireless usb, but I once had a usb drive disintegrate in just that manner.
