I guess it depends on how old you are looking for. Also, don't confuse maturity with experience. I don't care how mature you think you are... experience comes from time, practice, education, and lots of failures along the way.

lying about my age would not be a very wise thing to do because eventually they would find out and most likely break up with me if they were firmly against dating younger men

You are 18 years old...give it a minute why don't ya....
 There's people on here and everywhere else in the world looking for a "mate". They've been at this a lot longer than you and much older... Why don't you just enjoy being 19 and let things in life come to you instead of trying to hunt them down like the clock is ticking.

While you're still in school, take advantage of it. Probably one of the best places to meet women IMHO. I'm not sure how many success stories come from sites like this, probably not a lot.
