Topic: E-Mail Error Question | |
---|---|
I received an e-mail yesterday -- not here, on a private account -- and when I attempted to reply, I got an error message saying:
"The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please double-check the recipient's email address for errors and try again." Then it gives a message using this number: "550 5.1.1 <*****_******@*******.net> Account not available (in reply to RCPT TO command)" Apparently, I am not the only one who has run into this. I did some research and found a site where someone mentioned: ============ I have a client ("John") who is having troubles receiving email from one particular person ("Fred"). When Fred emails John, or anyone at John's company, he gets this email message back: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: (subject) Sent: 2/19/2004 3:15 PM The following recipient(s) could not be reached: 'John' on 2/19/2004 3:15 PM 550 5.1.1 <john@domain.com>... User unknown Everyone else in the world can mail John. I have checked and double checked the spelling, etc. We are currently using '*****', but have been assured by their tech support that the problem is not at our end. Any input, etc. would be appreciated. ========== Should I try to resend the message through another one of my accounts? The sender seemed pretty clear that she wanted a reply so I don't think she's just playing hard to get! |

i have a freind i email off site and not a member i get returnd damion on about a third of the time same address each time but it happens just the same yahoo to embarg The account I'm trying to send to is a Comcast account, which I have absolutely NO experience with at all -- but I've tried sending from two different accounts I have, and it comes back with the same error message either way....? |

Any updates? One of my friends on the site wrote to me last night and she offered a suggestion as to how we could check whether the account actually exists or not. Haven't done it yet but I think I need to find out. Some of my research suggests that the problem could be in the spam filtering on her end. I don't really know enough about that stuff to have a clue, though. |

This is a silly question... are you clicking reply and getting this message after you send, or are you generating a new message?
