Epiphany
It's never really known What's had until it's gone, Yet well perceived in lesson What's wrong is what is taught. Perhaps a gain is ruined Or a love that seemed to fade Bears depressing moods While I bow my head in shame. Elsewhere in the obstinate Something burrows deep and dark A meditative journey Serves to light a spark. When did I ever purchase What's thought is mine to keep? What ever made me trust An acceptance in defeat? The pain is never mortal A lesson's never cheap What's paid in full by teardrops Deceived me from victory. The course for me is clear As I seek an inner light Treading through the crystal That snuffs my outward night. Breeze procuring whispers Call for me to yield Understanding is the key For me again to feel. Imparting with this wisdom Established is my cause Embellished by a truth As I stand aloof in awe. I close my eyes In restful sleep What ached my heart Now turns to flee Angels of mercy Comfort and keep Each heart that's bound And found to weep. Fadedspirit 11/1/2008 |
