How do you figure???? I said I just drive fast is all....
I don't care a damn about the other person if they're in my way.
Is this a serious question? This is NOT about driving, though. This is about society.... |

her comment (correct me Lilith if wrong) is when did we lose our backbones, when did we as a people become so damn compliant and accepting that we no longer focus nor plan.

Is this a serious question? This is NOT about driving, though. This is about society.... No....I know it's not about driving at all. I was just talking about some of the things that have happened when I've done my 2 300 mile round trips every other weekend for the last 13 years. I haven't given up on this country's collective mind though. Every time I turn on the TV I see hopefulness for a better future for the most part. A new product here, or a new idea there. People running around chasing tornados just so they can learn how to predict them and save lives. Better building materials so that bridges won't collapse and have people plunge off in rivers in their cars. I could go on and on. This country is FULL of people trying to make the lives of others a little better. Now there are those who have become apathetic, but I have more HOPE and faith that the collective mentality of this country is otherwise!! |

Why can't you just THINK about it? Go re-read the posts. Think for yourself. You do this all the time.. it is as though you read what you want to be there rather than thinking about what the poster meant. Or simply reading what is written. |

LOL......Geez Lilith....what do you mean I do this all the time???? I answered your OP right off the bat. I just don't happen to agree with it. and said so. and continue to. Does everyone have to agree with you to get along?? I KNOW I'm not as smart as you are, I'm just a high school dropout that has had to use his hopes and dreams as guidepaths to mold his life into what it is with the tools gathered along the way. I just don't think that this society has become like you have described. |

You could easily understand if you took a few minutes on your own. I am totally fine with people disagreeing with me and actually adore the discourse. You did not answer my OP, I don't think you read it. You don't have to agree with me, but I'm asking for posters to read what I have written and reply to it within the context of what I said. Nothing more. |

My 2 cents.....I would say that a lot are saying to themselves, "voting for the lesser of two evils." Now most
of the time I hear this from people who are not voting at all. They feel that both suck, so why bother....H E L L O If you don't vote at all imo you have no say in anything. Nothing is ever going to change in this country...and no better candidates will come to the forefront if all of America has the attitude that all the candidates suck. I myself am voting for McCain and Palin and for a few good reasons. I feel McCain has done a lot just in his life. Heck just to be a POW and keep it together is good enough for me. But most important is his true true love of this country. Now this might be lame to some but unto this point I had not decided. when Obama stood there with his hands to his sides and didn't recite the pledge.....That was horrific to me. You are representing the UNITES STATES OF AMERICA....and in my mind you do not have this country's best interest at heart. He has his own agenda........ Now also Palin she is a woman that takes no crap from no one...she will come against the big wig for what she knows and feels is right for her state...I have oodles of respect for both of these candidates and they will get my vote. |

Yes....you're probably right about needing a spoon-fed explanation some of the time. I'll say it again about not being as smart as you. You are a very brilliant woman and I enjoy the intellectual stimulation. Everything I know I've learned either from experience or from reading books about whatever subject I'm interested in at the time. Specifically, I'm a self taught computer and networking expert with no diploma, but could get a job anywhere. Also, I have been involved in the National Airspace System of this country for the last 27 years and still going at that. BOTH fields demand detailed understanding of the subject matter before offering comments or solutions, so if I seem to need to be "spoon-fed", please try to forgive that flaw in my character and understand that I'm just try to participate in my own way. As for your original post, I thought I HAD thought about it and gathered my own conclusions about what you were talking about, but maybe I didn't go far enough. I just have learned to be as consise and to the point in as few words as possible in my experiences. (present explanation excluded) |

Hiya Deb.... I respect your opinion but couldn't disagree with you more! Love ya....

Mag, this isn't about intelligence, or job experience, it's about taking the time to read and reflect and participate in the context of a topic. And move your [/ quote]...

Obama is for change but do you think he will actually be able to do anything? It is going to take years to fix things. More time than Obama would even have in office. Yes, he's a good start to change things, or at least begin changing things for the better. McCain will just lead us down the same exhausted road. |

Mag, this isn't about intelligence, or job experience, it's about taking the time to read and reflect and participate in the context of a topic. And move your [/ quote]... Sorry....I fixed it. I understand this is not about those things, but I thought I had answered your original post with my original answer. Straightforward and to the point. That I was NOT one of the hopeless that you were referring. Or I THOUGHT you were referring. So I went on to try to understand better, because I wanted to participate. But I felt you should have a better understanding of who I was so that you wouldn't be offended that I ask for more details in ANY subject. And that's what I'm fixing to do again!! Ask details. So I can learn. |

Mag, I gotcha. My post was societal in nature, not individual.... Can you see that now?
