Fear filled my belly
Hearing you explain How you could get pneumonia Be taken far from this plain All my writings ceased Vanquished as I thought How illness could erase The only mother that I've got You, the center of it all The glue upon our compounded joint I prayed, silently lingered His light could heal, anoint You, the beacon of our lighthouse Radiance within your motherly smile To think of you growing dim Takes my breath back a mile For your light is within me When I feel utterly lost It's your radiance, your brilliance Which keeps this rock from growing moss Oh I know there comes a time When you and I will have to part I'm just thrilled it's not today Dear Mother, you have my heart Your soul shines as a rising sun To rejoice in another day Thankful isn't nearly enough To touch upon all I need to say You, loved as a warm sun I bask in your glowing smile My very first teacher and friend I, your child and still docile SDF Oct 27, 2008 This is for my Mom who is recovering from gallbladder surgery tonight. She will come home tomorrow. |
