(Sorry about the damned, if it is too hairy of a term feel free to edit it with the ever so notable ****** if needs be mods.) What is your view on pulling the plug on someone who is braindead, or someone that made the choice stemming from a mortal illness? It's totally in the hands of the person on the machine. What they've chosen before. I do believe in miracles. So it would be hard for me to pull it. ((((((((( Duane )))))))))) (((((((((( Judy )))))))))) What if they are braindead? And never made the decision before they went braindead? What I WOULDN'T do ., no matter what, is starve soemone to death. That's friggin inhumane. |

I was already grown at the time...I was 30 in 2000.

I was already grown at the time...I was 30 in 2000. But it does make you think about life differently I was about the same age when I had to do it.....but I mean grow up maturity wise. And yes, maybe think about life differently is a better way to put it. |

my opinion is pull the plug period especially if its in my will,family members who dont are being selfish and not respecting my wishes....in other words i want eternal sleep

  Wouldn't be fair to my friends and family if I was the one on the table. I would not want to be THE burden. I would never subject those that I love to a long and painfully slow.....not death....suffering of nothingness. For my own selfish reasons....I would not want to lay and atrophy within my own skin if I couldn't be with those I love or even do the things that fufill my life...Art, eating good food, laughing, smiling being truly happy.. If I can't experience anything...what is the point. Please note: this is simply my personal perspective. Peace I agree fully

Not to mention that it may not be your decision, i.e. a car accident and the rescue team brings to the hospital..... |

My sister and I had to make the choice for my dad when we were 24, he was only in his late 40's so never got around to the will, living or other wise.
It was the hardest decision I have probably EVER made, and never one to be taken lightly. We choose to pull the plug based off the medical facts and what we thought he would want. And made sure to set up my own living will to avoid having to burden that upon anyone else. |

Not to mention that it may not be your decision, i.e. a car accident and the rescue team brings to the hospital..... Yeah, I mean emergency medical response teams have an obligation not to just leave you in the road there.

I could do it if I knew that's what they wanted. I would want someone to pull the plug on me. No life support. Just let me go in peace.
