I just had to email a freind of mine and tell him of some freinds losses that were sickening and not understandable. A mutual freind of ours is a music instrument and memorabilia collector. (as we are) Rick has a beautiful 2 story rambler. Has been married to his wife for 30 years. He had a lot of extremely rare collectables displayed proudly on his walls. His wife got extremely drunk and destroyed the home and all collectables that were to be supplement to their retirement. An aluminum baseball bat did most of the damage. Both home pcs smashed to bits. Then she went after the collectables. All his rolling stones collection- smashed. His autographed framed beatles poster was smashed through the wall with said baseball bat. Many autographed guitars- smashed. And his prized possesion- A 1960 ferrari red national lap steel guitar- one of very few left- that had a beautiful handmade display case built into a fireplace facade for it. Gone. Smashed the case and destroyed the guitar ala pete townsend/ kurt cobain style. Losses sustained are around $150,000. This just blows my mind. Hell hath no fury like a scorned woman. Another reason to stay single.

Kind of make you wonder what made her that angry doesn't it? That kind of rage doesn't come out of thin air.

Then another mutual freind got a surprise. His father gave him and his wife the$300,000 farmhouse that he grew up in. It was your typical beautiful 6 bedroom farmhouse. Built solid like they built them 85 years ago. All hardwood interior. While away for business for 3 days his wife totalled out the house. In 3 days she smashed out all the walls, ceilings, windows, ceramics, sinks, bathtubs, plumbing, (yes flooded it out), just destroyed everything. They bulldozed the house last week while the family stood around in tears. The wife is in jail. Just senseless destruction. Once again- another reason to stay single. Gotta be something in the water.

In both cases noone knows what led up to the destructive behavior. Sources close to rick and his wife say that they are shocked. They assume it was just too much alcohol and argueing. Rick and his wife are still together. In the farmhouse destruction case- the wife is in jail- most likely for her own protection from the family. Love. Aint it grand? Or hundreds of grand?

For someone to go that crazy they have to be A. Mentally ill and if the dude was with her for 30 years did you say.... I doubt she was mentally ill at least to that extream or B. Really really pissed....
I'm going with B in both cases... I wanna know the whole story... |

Kind of makes me wonder if some of these cosmetic drugs ect. are as safe as everyone wants to think they are. Or is mental illness is being triggered by something. Doubt the high life is so good on a person's system as it sounds. Stress, booze, drugs, and swinging lifestyles/STD's, and self mutilation tend to catch up with people. Very sad but I think with the collasping economy you are going to hear a lot more of this. With couples or singles.
