Friends = 5 Yrs
Married = 6 Yrs Divorced= 3 Yrs Remarried= 11 Yrs Divorced= 4 Yrs He died It's odd how "divorce" did not mitigate the grieving and finality of his death. Feeling "widowed" was an experience I did not expect. His death profoundly affected me. |

Welcome here. Divorced and widowed, this is a good place wonderful friends, |

Thank you for the welcome. Experiencing the finality of death of one you have been married to is a reality that only those who've trodden the path can understand.
I appreciate all those whose posts I have read on this board. |

Just experienced the oddest feeling.
Was watching a movie and a very touching scene came on where a couple celebrating their 50th was dancing and I just started sobbing. It was hard to breath and it hurt so bad. I had flash backs......just like after Bernie passed. I have not felt this level of grief in YEARS...in fact I have, or though I was, doing rather quite well with my feelings as of lately. I am doing OK right now as the feeling has passed. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? |

It doesn't matter how long or how short the period of loss it. |

Learning how to live without her has been quite an experience. |

There are some people that play such an important role in your life that you will never truly get over their loss, you just get used to burying the feelings for most of the time.
Even if you move on and find another life partner, you can never 'un-love' someone who has been so important to you. Grief has no timeframe. |

Even if you move on and find another life partner, you can never 'un-love' someone who has been so important to you. Grief has no timeframe. Time leads to experience & practice, which TEACH us how to handle grief. More time more practice. Itis those moments that sneak up on us & the feelings pour out, like it was just today. We hide in our caves, lick our wounds & start practicing again. Old Sage's opinion |
