I'm a wannabe shaman on a low budget.

Does that count?

I'm an eclectic solitary witch that sometimes thinks she's Catholic also on a low budget.

a thread about wiccans, but has no posts made by wiccans? makes no sense. tell me, where might I find a thread about wiccans, containing posts made by wiccans?

You won't find one here. If you are interested in learning about Wicca, I suggest you start with Scott Cunningham's book "Wicca for the Solitary Practioner".

so no one that has posted in this thread is wiccan? makes no sense. maybe the thread is mistitled. because I see that all you are talking about is magica. so magica and wicca are two different things? or are they the same? or can they exist seperately?

You understand that this is a dating site, right? The threads are not here to be educational. They are simply a means by which people get to know each other. And, since you are unhappy with this one perhaps you should leave. flowerforyou

Technically Wicca is a religion that was formalized in 1940 and is based on various traditions of witches and witchcraft. It was formallized for the express purpose of being recognized as a religion in the USA.

As far as magick is concern, lots of people do magick. Even the Catholic Pope blesses Holy Water. That's an act of magick.

Barack Obama became the president of the United States of America.

That too was an act of magick.

And I chanted my part in that spell.

Well, if you have to choose between chanting "Obama" or "McCain" I think the first definitely flows better.

Here's another good book for beginning witchcraft without the wicca:

A Witch Alone by Marian Green.

Oh totally. thats weird, I swear just today I was thinking his name, Barack Obama was very melodic and mystical sounding. He's also a very physically attractive man. happy Its just nice to have a President finally who is not the typical but more a representative of the world, at least thats what he reminds me of. I wonder if this will help with the current American feelings amongst other nations that despise us? It might provided Obama does nothing crazy. He's always going to be judged harder. I dont think thats fair but I think it will happen. There is also a concern about assassination attempts on him. huh

Anyway this is my last post on politics on this thread. I dont want to hijack. This is less political and just my personal fear/opinion.

I came to this topic to learn bout wicca through real peoples experiences. I'm not trying to be rude, but please continue talking about your religion. I'm interested by it. if I wanted to know about politics, I'd mosey on over to the politics forum. thanks.

There is all kinds of useful information about Wicca and other Pagan religions on this thread. Its not solely Wicca but its discussed often. Also Witchcraft. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask and you will probably get like 5 different opinions on it.

All I have exercise wise right now is a treadmill thats up in my barn. I like it though. It gets me all sweating and exhausted. Im gonna look up these 5 rites as I need something else I can do in my house. The treadmill is up in the barn so I can use it all winter. Thanks for bringing that up JB.

I think I am sticking with my Yoga as it seems to make me feel better than the 5 rites.

Yoga is great. I do the five rites because they are specifically supposed to be for the spinning of the vortex chakra areas. I also add to the five rites, the back stretch, the twist, and some squats and balance on one foot exercises to the five rites routine.

I guess I should keep doing them along with the yoga.

They are very much like yoga and should fit right in with your routine. I see no reason to stop doing them. If anything, do at least the ones you like.
