there are so many cute women on here .only some reply . why? im not that bad looking for 40 something Probably because you made a minimal effort on your profile and they think you will make a minimal effort on a date. Most of the women on here have a lot going for them and it is a lot more than just looking good.

I respond back with a few tidbits and something that might spark a conversation. I get back "I'm fine". Uhhhhhhh, ok? Even if your not a relationship candidate for a woman, we still love to talk and make friends. At least I do. But you have to put some effort forth.

Isn't that the lazy way out? Yes, I want a date but I really don't care to fill this thing out. I'm with you on this one. Not spending my time trying to pull a conversation out of someone. Although I must be weird or something because I get some odd reactions when I actually take time to ask someone about their life. It's almost like it's an intrusion. The thing I don't understand is this -- we're on what is ostensibly a dating site. Profiles are supposedly a way to let people know something about yourself, right? Well, maybe I'm crazy (it's been suggested) but why wouldn't you try to make your profile, your summary, your whole "this-is-me-and-I'm-going-to-tell-you-why-I'm-not-the-same- as-Joe-Blahlifelessdude-in-the-next-profile" magnum opus, into something interesting and amusing and, hopefully, attractive? But no. I read the local profiles and every single one is vapid, empty, pointless, or contains hopelessly mangled English -- Manglish? (Hey, I like that one) -- to the point that you can't even figure out what they're trying to say, assuming they're trying to say anything, which is probably a baseless assumption. Lazy? Yeah, absolutely. If they're too lazy to even explain WHY I should be interested in them, where's my incentive to LOOK for anything interesting about them? I think the local people who have signed up on this site just haven't realized this isn't MySpace2 yet. Or maybe it is, and I just haven't realized THAT. There's a hell of a lot more of them then there are of me....
