So locally we've had people calling claiming to be a rep from the Credit Union and need your account number to "unfreeze it". They even made it so far as to make it appear the credit union is calling on the caller ID. I can't believe people fall for this but they always do. Reminder... you should NEVER give out your personal info of any kind over the phone.

i had a credit card company call me several yrs ago and ask for my info
and i ask them first for there website. and he gave me the site info.. all i got was a errior the site didnt exist they didnt get my info.. but when i told them the site didnt work they said they would call back.. but of course they never did |

Spoofing caller ID is easier than spoofing TCP/IP packet source IPs. And that isn't very hard.
Contact the telephone company when this happens. Scammers can fool a a little caller ID on your end but not the telephone companys switchlogs. The only real setback is if they are using a cellular phone, then it gets much more difficult. The FBI is very interested in these kinds of scams though. We should nuke Nigeria. lol |

I'm all for nuking Nigeria, I'm tired of all the junk mail from there or England some guy wanting your info to give you all his money. PSHAW!!!
