Do you ever feel like the world is a tuxedo and you are a pair of old brown shoes?
I mean here I am studying English in Europe for half of my life so when I come to the states I can hang with you guys. I find out later that no one speaks English in Miami and the only practice I get is on Mingle. Then I want to study Buddhism to be more peaceful and there isn't a organization anywhere down here. Then when it comes to politics everyone is voting Mccain and I am screaming for the Green Party.... alone! lol Besides the crazy stares from everyone when shopping I realize that maybe many are saying to themselves "Look at him. He must be a tourist or lost! lol Well anyway if you feel like a pair brown shoes today then join the forum called "Old Brown Shoes" coming soon! John |

yes Oregon is very liberal right as of Washington State? Come to Miami and you will see a whole different ball game down here. |

Well, I took 4 years of French and live in Texas and need to learn more Spanish!! Just think how much more well-rounded you will be.
And, be an on-line Buddhist?? Lots of organizations to hook you into meeting other Buddhists. AND I wouldn't want to live life as a stilted tuxedo. It just doesn't fit my persona at all. You have to be who you are wherever you are, unless you are evil, then, you know where you go!!

I didn't want to spend the whole day online. I want to go out! No Buddhist community here. No one speaks English. It really makes you feel out of place! I am who I am and will never change that, but would like to find some like minded folks down here to hang out with. |

I grew up in Miami..and I tell you, today its a far cry from the home place of old jews retired from New York that I knew... Brown shoes??..is that like being out of sync..? yes feeling out of place in a demographic area I suppose. I guess the internet life is the best I can do for now. lol |

Buddhist in the bible belt, young widow old mother of a 8 yr. old in a place where women my age are grandmothers. I talk about politics,"aren't women suppose to keep that to themselves?" I don't straighten my hair and I wear clothes that fit me even though I am over 40. |
