Women are (slightly)the majority of religious people. Probably always have been.

No, I've never thought that it does. Some "teachings" may try to do it. But the Word of God does not.

Why or why not? I say it doesn't... You are not a woman. Yes it does and is practiced openly in some churches. Vocal women are frowned upon. They are told to obey their husbands and hold their tongues. Of course things are changing on the surface, but the attitude is still there in the collective subconscious. And it is not just religion that discriminates. There was a time when the Catholic Church did not consider women to be human. They were basically, property and used for the purpose of serving their husbands and bearing children. In politics, Black males received the right to vote before women did. As much racial prejudice that existed in this country against blacks, women were discriminated against worse and considered not smart or educated enough to vote or be involved in politics. Don't kid yourself that we have overcome all that prejudice. jb |
