I am a big fan of distinctive names.

My real name is Wyn.

When I was a kid most of the girls were Cindy, Jane, Mary...common plain names and I had to defend my name. I was teased, Winnie the Pooh was a favorite taunt of the local bully, but what the hell, kids tease other kids. It makes you stronger and in my case it made me love my name.

Names are powerful as we've all seen recently.

I don't have to share mine with many people. I like that.

I love my unusual name and congratulate her for choosing names that stand out.

I like those names but I did think julia roberts was on demerol when she named her kids.And we all know what Frank Zappa was on.lol

When I was in maybe 4th grade a classmate of mine had a b-day.

I thought it would be nice to write a b-day greeting on the chalk board.

In great big letters I wrote "HAPPY BIRTHDAY VIRGIN"

The red faced teacher sure erased that in a hurry.

I wouldn't remember I don't think except my then well intentioned message earned me a trip to the principles office where I was reprimanded.
