I would not casually light up. I am deliberate about enjoying my freedoms. You have a right to your opinion, which is different than giving any free person hell for what you think. All that I need to say, in public, is to ask you not to bother me, and if you persist then I can report your public nuisance to the authorities, and have you cited and removed. That is the freedom that I fought to protect; to keep people free from suffering unlawful intrusion.

In the same since....you have to respect the smokers right to light anywhere they are allowed. You can simply walk away. As long as they arent blowing it your face, then i dont see the problem.

I really dont see what religion has to do with smoking, i know plenty og very religious people smoke more than just cigarettes.

they have not proven that smoking causes cancer look at the satisics ( i know it is spelled wrong) but 90% of the smoking cancers is second hand smoke so keep smoke and you wont get it

Shhshs I'm a none smoker now going on 6 years. But...I have a choice and enough sense if the smoke bothers me to walk away. Besides you can't tell someone to quit smoking if they want to smoke they will if they want to quit they will.

I agree, I could give a crap when they light up. The problem is, too many do blow it in your face, then behave nonchalant when you're irritated. It's like, "What's the matter, don't you just love the taste of green death on your lips?" Come on.

Just the other day, I was waiting for the bus at the terminal, and an acquaintance lights one up and proceeds to blow the first puff right in my face. Then, noticing my irritation, she goes, "What?"

Just to reiterate, I don't wander the city looking for smokers to harrass. But just as you expect to have your rights respected, so to do I expect to have mine respected, and I've every right to breathe (relatively) clean air.

I too have freedoms that are important to protect.
