it just lets the person know ur interested thats all if ur not they wont know

all it is is a way to let them know you are interested...if you click yes...they will be sent the message and if interested in you...they will click yes and they will appear as a match

If you go through your Mutual Match candidates, you will be asked to rate each one as a YES or NO or MAYBE, depending on whether you are interested in them.

Your YES and MAYBE picks will then see your pic and a profile snippet when they go through their new MM candidates. If they give you a YES or MAYBE also, you will be notified that you have made a Mutual Match.

There is a way to tell whether or not someone has rated you a YES or MAYBE, but, as far as I know, this only works when it's someone who is outside of your normal search parameters. Normally, your MM candidates come from a pool of people who fit into your regular search settings.

In other words -- I have my search set for a maximum distance of 250 miles, and a certain age range. If someone shows up in my MM candidates from farther away than 250 miles, or outside the set age range, I know they are not "supposed" to be there as a natural consequence of the MM feature. Therefore, they must have rated me a YES or MAYBE in order to have bypassed my regular settings.

If someone within your search settings shows up in your MM candidates, there is no way to know for sure if they are just there as a function of the normal search, or if they rated you a YES or MAYBE. The only way to know is to rate them and see if any Mutual Matches result.

I read an interesting article in one of the science magazines a few years back, where they said that the number of strange disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle is actually a little less than is typical for any similarly-sized stretch of ocean -- just got blown out of proportion in the public mind, for some reason, like American Idol or religion or something....
