Just another rainy day in the grand ole state of Kansas. Has anyone noticed the leaves changing colors? Do you feel we are in for a long winter?

I have noticed some leaves changing here in Winfield. I am looking forward to cooler weather and the snow. I grew up in Kansas and have returned after being gone for 18 years. My last two years were spent in Arizona and I miss the snow.
As far as predicting the winter, I'll pass on that since I have been gone so long and couldn't begin to guess.

I too have been here all my life and with the way this year has gone, I'm betting on a long and very white winter. The fall is a lovely time of year.

I am enjoying this fall. I think I would like a very white winter.

I believe you will get your wish. Since we haven't had all that many winters in the last 6 that have been white, except for last year, I believe we are due for a long winter. Of course, when winter is here we can look forward to spring. Getting outdoors without the jackets, ear muffs and mittens.

I love that we actually are having a fall this year. Too often it seems to go from summer to winter without much transition.

As wet as this spring and summer were I think we might actually get some snow this winter though.

You aren't the one freezing your a$$ off because your body is needing another 3 years to acclimate.

Up till last year I don't remember much snow. Lots Ice and cold wet rain, but little snow.

Oh, I have videographic evidence we had tons of snow!

Nicole and I had just come home from Israel to find SNOW!

As long as I don't get stuck at work, alone, for 2 hours, I'm fine with snow.

But last year was a living hell. Hell apparently froze over. I barely got into the parking lot where I work, and it took me nearly 2 hours of rocking, digging, and a ton of kitty litter to get out. Of course as soon as I get out, the snow plow comes >.< Thank the flying spaghetti monster that I work at a vet clinic, or I wouldn't have had the benefit of having all-you-can-use kitty litter. I broke 2 ice scrapers digging my car out though. I'm sure the spare tire on the front right side didn't help any, considering my car is front wheel drive :-/

But before last year, I don't remember much snow. Ice, sometimes, yes, but not snow. Hell, last year I got a day off from school because nothing happened >.< They said it would snow, the university closed, and then it never snowed.

I can't believe it! It made a small snow last night!

Snowed for about half an hour here this morning. Not sticking, though. Too warm.
