Topic: do away with the two party system! | |
---|---|
If I understand it correctly the two party system is the result of politics when we did not have the technology to be aware of someone's qualification's. We now have the ability to keep records on most eveyone in America. It is time to do away with the all inclusive two party system. Unless of course you prefer it the way it has been for several decades now with the huge amounts of unequal distribution of of our nations resources !

If you want to do away with the two party system then work to develop and support alternatives.

Thats easy (or not) you just have to convince a majority of Americans that their T.V. is lying to them and that you can vote for whomever you want.
Nader, Barr, McKinney and Baldwin. Paul/Ventura '08... You get the picture. |

think about it.
if you have 3 candidate who are equal and the outcome is as followed: 34% candidate 1 33% candidate 2 33% candidate 3 Then that means 66% of the population disagrees with the new president if you have 4 candidate who are equal and the outcome is as followed: 26% candidate 1 25% candidate 2 25% candidate 3 24% candidate 4 Then that means 74% of the population disagrees with the new president It only gets worse from there. |

Fine, but how about the duopoly conspiring election after election to silence and marginilize anyone who doesn't fit their views. Without regard to the rights of the other candidates, to the detriment of the voters, who don't get to hear one word about real issues.
Instead of doing 3rd, 4th party candidates, why not just BAN party politics altogether? If you are running in packs, you need to be eliminated from the political process. Groupthink is dangerous. |

Harder to manipulate people into voting the same line over and over if you don't have the parties fighting eachother. It's a brilliant mindgame. People are so distracted with differences in upbrinings, and/or religion, or color, or especially acting skills, that they never compare actual policies. If that distraction werent there people would see just how similar the two different candidates are in their political beliefs.
A one party system hidden behind a psuedo two party system. One of my favorite quotes of all times is, "The most convincing lie is hidden between two truths". |

Hell just make debates open for god's sake. Why do they just debate eachother? Why not debate against a few people,on different oocasions? People would then quickly see who is for them and who is against them...
