Carol, same thing happened to me last month. Came home & my renter had moved out, just left the key on the kitchen table. Probably for the best :) things happen for a reason

Yep, no complaints here; except for the rudness of how she left. I helped her in her hour of need, now to the devil with me.

They have a new door handle out there now that a home owner can change to a different key in a about a minute. Its pretty neat.

Nope you can tell that don't really bother me I never let anyone close to me I feel I can't trust. She'll return it.Most likely when I'm not here :)

Rebel58.... Its sad at Holiday time. I'd always see things and think "Mom would like that"...then the realization... Take care and try to think of good memories. Carold...that awful about your key.

My daughter is in Philly....got to see her this past April when she drove out here. Have a brother in Chicago but I see him maybe 2x's a year. This year I am so busy working the holidays it may not even bother me. Although, I do like KoolAides philosophy of collecting people. Hay Cat we collected each other we did! Holidays can be a lonesome time,especially for single people without relatives or friends close by to celebrate. Staying busy helps, volunteering at homeless shelters to serve Thanksgiving, Christmas dinners makes a person see just how fortunate they really are. Joining a church group to sing carols, visit care facilities at Christmas is a good way to spread the joy to others. For me, I usually have to work the holidays. And I try not to get caught up in the commercialization of Christmas, I like to think every day is Christmas.

Great post euphoraholic!! Those are good ideas. I got sucked into to the whole work thing...little gift from so and so...and a little gift back. Now I'm a little bit better and just try to thank those who gave a little something. I tried to make homemade things...but its just too much, as baking and candy making can be expensive. I try to spoil a child or two if I can. Been so lucky to have a small group who gathers for the major holidays and go out to eat.

I have a brother & sister in California, & i am in Arizona with my best friend & some of her family. Holidays are hard & pretty much empty since my Mother passed in 2001, she was the center & gatherer of the family & a wonderful cook the holidays pass by pretty much & i try to remember why they are holidays and i have You.
