Pleasing to my eye,

My bare feet applaud your plush carpets,
Yet hunger for the green velvet of living grass.

With no joy or delight to my uncultured eyes.

Cautiously, like an animal being stalked,
I try to breathe and remain calm.
My spirit turning blue as I hold my breath
Making my way to the door.

My feet tripping into a gallop,
Hands outstretched zinging pleasure
Through my body as I push that door open

Plants, flowers, trees, grass - all proper looking,

Oooo-grass rolling is good too, but not in Minnesota in June - too many ticks hang out in freshly mowed grass with great hills. Yup, I learned from personal experience
