The 7-day cycle is not synthetic. Consider that the lunar cycle is 28 days from new moon to new moon--that is four periods of 7 days each, right? yours in Chaos, Scarlett

I said: It's not synthetic. It's a natural thing that the concept was built around. The perception of a 7-day cycle is something that existed before there were words to describe it, so it's to be expected that once there WAS language, the natural cycles would be an integral part of language.
It's like saying "who thought up numbers?" One person did not create numbers. At least, if I understand your question--if I am not getting what you're asking, let me know. xoxo |

that actually created the 7 days concept identified in Genesis? In those days men slept out in the open a alot, they were very familiar with the night sky. It's a beautiful attraction when you don't have HBO. When you live under the night sky you soon come to the realization that there are 7 heavenly bodies that don't behave like all the other stars. This is where the religious significance of the number 7 comes from. These were considered to be the 7 heavens. With the 7th heaven being the highest and final heaven. The number 7 was considered to be divine and God loved the number 7. It's really strange that they didn't keep this up throughout the story and have only 7 commandments. Especially in light of the fact that the first 4 our all basiscally, "Worship me! Worship me! Worship me! Worship me!" If the first four had all been reduced to just one commandment there'd only be 7 commandments instead of ten. |

"A day to God is as a thousand years to man" There you have an explanation that is easy to look up and will or at least should start you thinking in the right direction. If you will really study it you will find that those "seven days" may actually be millions of light years long! Paint your own picture though, don't take my or any other persons word for it. Ask the lord to direct you thoughts as you study and he will!
