I have been trying to get this thread to start jumping but it is very slow. If you want to play word games then maybe it will start rolling . Anyway I've been on this site for a some months now and nothing really changed so far

I sent those little messages to people but they never respond. I guess they dont think Im genuine when I say I just want to be friends.

This is very true. I've been here two years, I've seen hundreds and hundreds of locals sign up here, and almost none of them actually participate on the site at all.

I don't understand it.

Why sign up if you're not going to try to use the site?

And, Scourge, I saw your post, too, and I had the same experience -- tried to write to some new locals, and NEVER got a reply. And I'm a published author with two books out there, so it's not like I can't write a decent e-mail.

Maybe someday some locals will sign up who are actually willing to communicate....??

I guess they are just ... wondering about the internet I suppose. ALTHOUGH I can say my profile page does leave more to be interested. AND I dont have a picture but still I thought that added to the mystique of trying to find out XD or maybe Im just weird.

Well, I don't know what people are looking for on this site. But I wish someone would tell me LOL. I enjoy chatting to those who are willing to take a few seconds and leave comments. It would be more fun if others would join in .

Post in the forums -- that's the way to get exposure around here!

Also, it would be a good idea to make a post introducing yourself in the New Members Welcome Forum -- it's the one at the very top of the forum list.

Once people get to know you, you can make friends, get tons of e-mail, all kinds of stuff.

The only downside for me has been that there are very few local people on the site who actually participate here. I get lots of e-mail but it's all from people who are 897,000 miles away.

Maybe you'll do better!
