Doin' all right. Just checked the TV news and almost plotzed myself hearing about the recent Stock Market plunge... which was followed by a senate hearing about why the idiots who ran Lehman Brothers into the ground should be allowed to keep their stinking money. It's enough to make one wanna plotz him/herself! Which I already did after seeing those two stories on the news.

Yeah. It all was rather... interesting.
But the BEST part were the Lehman Brothers senate hearings, which could be considered "quite funny" if they were actually part of a sit-com- You had a bunch of the oldest biddies in the Senate asking the head of Lehman Brothers (who even LOOKS like a white-collar shyster) about why it went down, and (more importantly) why their practice of privatizing profits and NOT privatizing losses (resulting in the $700 billion bailout) is a GOOD thing. Oh yeah... they only LIGHTLY glossed over the questions about why the corporate types at Lehman Brothers made a killing DESPITE the fact the company was obviously in DEEP trouble. To quote the great American philosopher Alfred E. Newman, "What... ME worry???"- THIS was the overall feel of the hearings. It was neither serious nor was it an attempt at trying to FIX the very problems that corporate America and the out-of-control quest for all things greed the 'above-the-line' types have railroaded us into these last three decades. And DON'T get me started on the farce that is the $700 billion bailout to start with. ![]() |
