Lost: A world in which most friendships and relationships are built on tangible things like shared experiences and spending time together Found: A world in which people are tossed aside as casually as if they were yesterday's news. A world where people and "friends" are completely disposable. A world called the internet. I cannot answer for anyone else, but I miss the world that is no more...

Mt world is to this day built on friendships and relationships and gain new friends each day...I have had the same best friend for 43 years...all of my friendships are everlasting as each is handle with love and respect...so sorry you are feeling disposed of

I speak of internet friends Kim.... People can disappear out of your life without so much as a ripple on the water... This has never happened to you?

My best friend and I have been friends for 25 years. I would not 'dispose' of her in any way. She is sometimes the rock for me. I have made other friends and will have these friends for as long as they will let me keep them.

I speak of internet friends Kim.... People can disappear out of your life without so much as a ripple on the water... This has never happened to you? Oddly no....other than one who's pc is not working at this time....but that could be me too because I make it a point to stop in and say hello to each of my friends at least once a week...even if it's just a short good morning

I guess I've got great friends, so I don't know what to tell you. But I did learn a long time ago that a person can have a lot of "acquaintances", but you're definitely lucky when you find true friends.

Sorry, waterloo, I didn't know that you were specifically referring to internet friends. I thought you meant people in the "real" world, too.

See...I'm really confused on the difference between my life here and my life away from here...because I consider all of you "real" people...no different than my friends here at home...just haven't been able to hug any of you yet...but you are all very real to me

I've chatted with some really nice people on this and a few other sites, some that I would consider friends, but I'll probably never meet any of them in person. They've been fun to get to know, though .
