Tomorrow
Lake Perris, again
I am going to jump out of a plane
Whatever happens happens
I have done this before

The sad part is
it was for my bachelor party
and
I repeat

"This is mean't to be if I land"

Why did I say this before hand?

My best man and runner up
both heard me say this

Speaking to which
why did my runner up
flip the bill for the last
jump

(That was 7 years ago)

Now here we go, again!

Jumping with my runner up
friend

proving the best man just lives too
damn far and I can't wait for him
to get here to do this again

so I will jump impatiently
out some plane
maybe the same

probably around 12,500 feet
That is the standard

Last time it was 13,000
because the guy before
me was no Tommy Lee

Though he looked
acted and talked
like he done it all

He stalled; Three times

Making the plane hafta circle around
to get on point
increasing the elevation
bringing us closer to the sun

The pilot, my instructor,
the fake tommy lee and his real instructor

After the other 14 jumpers jumped
it left just us

The door open
the count to 3
rocking front to back
each number rocking
I'm rocking
the jump
I'm holding on for a life
to a 1-2 hour packed main chute plus
it's 4-6 hour reserve

falling
at around 150mph
the wind altering my face
like Jim Carey naturally

Free falling
for a minute

Pulling the cord
at 5,000 ft

Being thrown
like a rag doll
in a uncontrolled
unstable
still able
to hold
environment

Every cloud
feng shui

Me
throwing up
going down
Outdiving the stomach's opinion

Landing on the grass
bottom mass
crashing softly

Not caring
if tomorrow
lands sloppy

Just not making any
superstitious comments

before dropping

What a ride!

Seems like most of life is like jumping out of a plane, you never know if you will land or if the chute will open..its a risk, a gamble...but always worth taking. Excellent write D
