After years of complete and embarrassing failure Matt Millen was finally fired!

Local news reported people driving past Ford Field honking their horns and cheering! That sort of noise hasn't been heard in the proximity of the field since it was erected several years ago and it reportedly confused and disoriented members of the Lions staff.

He leaves the Lions organization with a record of 31-84.

Millen, arguably the worst general manager in sporting history will not be missed!

Too bad Ford didn't completely clean house. After all this season is over already for the Lions.

I am a Packers fan, but it is about time. His mishandlment of the Lions was an embaressment to the NFC North.

I've yet to meet anyone who has any understanding of why he was hired in the first place - let alone how long he lasted. They should shell out the bucks and hire Bill Cower as the General Manager/Coach, a la Bill Belichick. He'll have that franchise turned around within 3 years.

I wasn't aware that Detroit had a pro football team.

I thought over the years the only reason he stayed as long as he did was he had something on William Clay Ford...

Inside Addition: Ford Exposed! Matt Millen held a news conference earlier today in which he exposed pictures of Ford Sr. in a Green Bay uniform shirt and a jock strap with green and yellow ribbons in his hair, being spanked by a Chicago Bears cheerleader while the Vikings mascot looked on.

It's just gotta be something like that.
